Rev. Jane Plantinga Pauw, Pastor

Educated at Calvin College and Fuller Theological Seminary, our pastor and her husband, Jack, live in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood with their pittbull, Obie, and occasionally one of their young adult daughters.  Some of Jane’s passions in ministry are multicultural issues, creativity in worship and music, Christian community development, and spiritual growth.  If you ask her what she loves most about our church, she will say “our beautiful mosaic of people, otherwise known as our motley crew”.  Jane and Jack have travelled to six continents and 34 countries, and consider their travel the best part of their education.  Our pastor’s passion for our church is to help the congregation implement its Purpose, Values, and Ministry Priorities (see document).

Rev. Janine Moriarty, Parish Associate

Is an Ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church USA.  She has served churches in Lincoln, Nebraska, and in Federal Way and Des Moines, Washington.  She is currently a Member at Large of Seattle Presbytery, serving as Parish Associate at Rainier Beach Presbyterian Church.  While searching for a new call she serves the "larger church" working at REI, where she uses her pastoral skills on a regular basis.  She enjoys sports and is somewhat of a baseball fanatic, loves college football, and enjoys walks on the beach searching for "beach glass.”

Johann Van Niekerk, Minister of Music

Johann joined our staff in November of 2011, and brings amazing energy and experience to our worship.  A South African citizen, Johann is working on his doctorate at the UW.  His passion is bringing musical training to the children and youth of the townships near his home in Johannesberg.  Johann returns to South Africa every summer to continue his work and visit his family.  He brings us a wealth of experience in choral world and classical church music,  bringing a blended repertoire to our mosaic congregation.
