Why Give at Rainier Beach Presbyterian Church?
It has been said that we can see a person's deepest loyalties and passions by how they spend their time and their money. At the church, we have an opportunity to give part of what God has entrusted us with for the ministry of the church. We believe that the church's ministry is critical to the well-being of our community and our world, and that our gifts to the church's ministry represent our own desire to bring the peace/justice/grace of God into the lives of others. We ourselves have been deeply touched by God's grace, and want to share that gift with others.
Jesus spoke about money more often than he spoke about prayer, faith, and the Scriptures. Stewarding it well, on God's behalf, seems to be one of the most essential aspects of Christian living. It is a Christian discipline that not only strengthens the work of God with others, but somehow also builds up the faith of the giver.
